bipolar disorder
Bipolar disorder is a type of mental illness which causes unusual shifts in mood, activity levels, energy, concentration, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. Bipolar disorder can also include episodes of depression. This disorder is also known as a bipolar disease or manic depression. When people become depressed, they might feel sad and loose interest or pleasure in most activities. When their mood shifts to mania or hypomania (less extreme than mania), they might feel euphoric, full of energy or unusually irritable. These kind of mood swings can affect asleep, judgement, energy, behaviour, activity, and the ability to think clearly. Even though bipolar disorder is a lifelong condition, they can manage their mood swings and other symptoms by following a treatment plan. In most of the cases, this disorder can be treated with medications and psychological counselling (psychotherapy).
